        Badong field comprehensive test site (hereinafter referred to as “test site”) is located in the Three Gorges reservoir area Badong County Huangtupo area. It is of the key construction project of Ministry of Education, named “Yangtze River-Three Gorges reservoir area geological disaster book research 985 advantageous disciplines of the innovation platform”. It is a comprehensive field base integrating landslide prevention and control, scientific research, teaching and engineering practice functions,which mainly including the Huangtu Slope Landslide Underground Test Tunnel Complex, Geological Hazard Surface and Underground Monitoring System, Laboratory and Geological Hazard Information Platform.

     Since its operation in early 2013, the test site has supported the research of a number of important projects, such as the National 973 Project, the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Instrumentation R&D Special Project, and international cooperation projects. Test site supported the opening and operation of the Badong International Geohazard Forum, which has achieved a series of important results, played an important role in the prevention and control of landslides and geohazards and has generated a wide range of international academic impacts. In recent years, we have made important breakthroughs in the methodology and technology of multi-field correlation monitoring of landslides through joint research by industry, academia and research institutes by focusing on the cutting-edge scientific issues and key technical issues of monitoring and prevention of large-scale water-related landslides, and promoting the technological progress of the industry and playing a demonstrative role.

       Since the beginning of construction in 2018, our company has completed the construction of the test site monitoring project under the guidance of Prof. Tang Huiming's team from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). During which we have provided hundreds of sets of monitoring equipments, including GNSS monitoring stations, rainfall monitoring stations, meteorological (five-parameter) monitoring stations, radar water level monitoring stations, groundwater monitoring stations, etc., as well as the monitoring system software platform.

Software Platform for Monitoring System

 

      The test site is oriented to the whole territory of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, and carries out field scientific observation and research on geologic disasters under the operating conditions of the reservoir. It has been nearly five years since the construction began in 2018, and has built a stable and standardized geological disaster field observation and test data convergence system and a high-quality, efficient, orderly and open data sharing platform, which broken through the theoretical and technical bottlenecks in the prediction, and achieved important innovative results in the evolution mechanism, prediction, early warning and prevention and control technology of reservoir geologic disasters. It provided a new opportunity for the Three Gorges Reservoir Area in Hubei Province. The National Field Scientific Observatory for Geological Hazards has provided effective data support for the theoretical and technological research on reservoir geohazard prediction, early warning, prevention and control, and has realized the goals of rapid response to reservoir geohazard monitoring, high-precision intelligent early warning and assessment, and scientific and efficient management and control.
